#Fitness – Your 2015 Fitness Plan with Tyler Brown

Just in time for the New Year – Your 2015 Fitness Plan! On Instagram I’ve posted a few of my workouts and received a lot of requests to post my fitness routine.  I’m excited to launch a #Fitness series on Social and Style to share my workouts and health tips. To start the series, one of the best decisions I made in 2014 was to work out with a Personal Trainer. Thanks to my trainer, Tyler Brown from YMCA DC, I am in the best shape of my life. I get the question a lot, “Is a trainer worth the investment?” My answer is, “YES!”

Benefits of working out with a personal trainer

  • Proper form – After years of working out solo, I have a lot of form issues that I’m finally learning how to correct – which leads to better results.
  • Variation – a good trainer varies each session based on your needs and progress. No session of mine has ever been the same and I love learning new exercises from TRX to plyometrics.
  • Motivation – Once you’ve made the decision to work with a trainer, you will definitely hit the gym and feel more accountable.
  • Work it – Having someone push you to your max and progress each time you work out is the best feeling!

I asked Tyler to share a few tips to start your 2015 Fitness plan

A few of my favorite exercises that you may want to include in your plan  (I’ll profile these workouts in detail on upcoming #Fitness posts!)

  • TRX
  • Battle ropes
  • Kettle bell
  • Aerial rings
  • Sand bag

  3. I hired a personal trainer for prenatal training and it was the best decision ever. Learned proper form and technique – lots of people thought it was silly due to how expensive it is but it beats injuring or over exerting yourself while pregnant!

  9. You look great – especially with that smile on your face! Totally agree – a trainer is so important! Otherwise you can really injure yourself and/or not get the best results from your workout. I love that you’re including a fitness series, and that you did a video!
