A Better Florist – Every reason is the perfect reason for flowers.

Mom to be in White gown holding flowers from A Better Florist

// Dress c/o Covetella // Flowers c/o A Better Florist //

Every reason is the perfect reason for flowers. Flowers hold a special place in my heart. My mom loves flowers and spends hours in her garden tending to her beautiful blooms. My Grandfather, who worked in Ludhiana’s Agricultural University, grew up tending to our family’s farm and flower fields. My Grandpa instilled the importance of agriculture to his three daughters by teaching them about botany, flower arrangement, and gardening. My mom always feels close to her father when she is around flowers. Now that I am away from home, I too feel my mother’s presence around flowers. For me, fresh flowers light up a room and make our home feel cozy, especially when I miss my family and friends back in the US. When I moved to Singapore, I searched for places to buy flowers both affordably and easily. Thankfully, I found A Better Florist!

Expat Living Singapore – June 2017 Feature!

Exciting news, my first print magazine feature in Singapore is out! Thank you Expat Living SG for including me in your June issue.  When I first found out we were moving to Singapore, I decided to embrace the move wholeheartedly. While I missed my family and friends like crazy, I wanted to make the best of this new adventure. By God’s grace, we found out I was expecting on Christmas Day 2016. We were so thankful learn about the news. As the weeks progressed, I had a tough first trimester with nausea and tiredness. On top of that, I was interviewing for jobs and trying to settle into our new home.  Dealing with so much change, a new country, while trying to move my career forward and make new friends was one of the toughest points in my life.

Planning a Babymoon in Paris and a day at the The Palace of Versailles

Location // Château de Versailles // Dress Asos similar // Shoes Toms

Our babymoon in Paris was a dream. It was so nice to relax and enjoy the Parisian lifestyle for 10-days. Also, celebrating my 34th birthday and Mother’s day (Both on May 14th!) during the trip made for beautiful memories. Of all the trips I have taken, this holiday was the most chill and go-with-the-flow. I have my little peanut to thank for that. Given this was my fourth trip to Paris (2nd and 3rd here) Paris, I had already seen most of the major sites from the Eiffel Tower to the Basilica of Sacre-Coeur. This babymoon was about spending time with my husband, embracing the Parisian lifestyle, and being in the moment.  I am so thankful I didn’t go overboard with planning or taking pictures! There is definitely something about Paris that helps you appreciate natural beauty and the simple things in life. Sharing a recap of our babymoon in Paris today, how to plan a babymoon in Paris, and a day at The Palace of Versailles!

Style File: Volume 1.2

Thank you all for your suggestions on what to eat, see, and do in Paris. The Babymoon was a much needed break and so relaxing. I really appreciate your feedback on my last post. Sometimes it’s hard to be vulnerable, but I find it so important to be honest and authentic. I’ll be sharing more in my next post but for a while, I wanted to stop blogging – mainly because of the time and effort it takes to keep up with social media. Honestly, I got disheartened with how many people buy likes, followers, and comment bots on platforms such as Instagram. Thankfully, I’m learning to focus on myself and what I can contribute rather than what other  people are doing. I truly believe that being an influencer is a part of my destiny and I am focusing on how I can best use the gifts, talents, and abilities God has given me to make an impact. With that comes showing sides of myself that are not perfect, and often I don’t want to admit to myself. While for some, perfect pictures and a perfect life is their goal, it’s definitely not mine. Stay tuned for more honest posting coming soon – along with the fun stuff like fashion and travel. Today, I’m excited to share my weekly round up of my favorites this week!

Babymoon Part II in Paris and a Birthday celebration!

Location // Parc Monceau // Dress H&M //

Good morning, I’m writing today from a cafe in Paris with a hot chocolate on my right and an apple filed pastry on my left. Filled with gratitude, I feel blessed to be healthy enough to travel during my pregnancy and enjoy this time as much as possible.  I had a pretty tough first trimester – I stayed indoors for almost 2 months with nausea and tiredness. Thankfully my second trimester has been wonderful so far and I have been able to travel.  As I write today , there is so much I want to share about how I have been feeling about this blog and social media in general over the last few months. As I prepare to become a mother, I am paying a lot more attention to how I view the world and what I contribute. I feel like a lot of what I post makes it seem like life is great 24/7.  As with anyone, that is definitely not the case and to be honest – I’ve had my share of struggles adjusting to my new life in Singapore. Consciously, I try not to write about negative things since I want the blog to be a place of positivity and inspiration. At the same time, I want to be honest, real, and I am really tired of the perfection portrayed on Instagram and social media on a daily basis. So do I balance? Do I quit? Or do I try my best to put a sincere effort towards being more real on the blog? I’ve decided to go with the latter and share some much needed changes I’ve made my life. Many of these changes were inspired by listening to Oprah’s Soul Sessions from Season 3 – especially Gabby Bernstein and Tony Robbins.
