Expat Living Singapore – June 2017 Feature!

Exciting news, my first print magazine feature in Singapore is out! Thank you Expat Living SG for including me in your June issue.  When I first found out we were moving to Singapore, I decided to embrace the move wholeheartedly. While I missed my family and friends like crazy, I wanted to make the best of this new adventure. By God’s grace, we found out I was expecting on Christmas Day 2016. We were so thankful learn about the news. As the weeks progressed, I had a tough first trimester with nausea and tiredness. On top of that, I was interviewing for jobs and trying to settle into our new home.  Dealing with so much change, a new country, while trying to move my career forward and make new friends was one of the toughest points in my life.

By March, I had completely stopped blogging and wasn’t sure what to do next. I asked God for a sign.  The next morning, I received an email from Expat Living Singapore saying they wanted to feature me in their June issue Fashion Section. I was so surprised! I wasn’t sure if the magazine knew I was pregnant and was open to still featuring me. Thankfully, the team at Expat Living SG was so supportive and they were excited to feature me and my bump. We shot the photos for the feature when I was five months pregnant! Expat Living Magazine is my go-to guide for all things Singapore. From the day we first moved, the magazine has helped me so much from finding the best restaurants in Singapore to the best places to shop. I love how the magazine features so many hidden gems in SG and I always discover something new.

Fast forward a month later, I am now 28 weeks pregnant, I joined a fashion tech startup that I love, and we are in full swing preparing for Baby B’s arrival.

I wanted to share the background behind the feature because I feel that with social media, people only see the highlights of your life. It seems like everyone’s life is perfect and that is so not the case. We all go through times when we are tested. Thankfully the Universe never gives us more than we can handle and every time we are tested we grow. Keep believing, keep trying, keep moving forward. Your dreams will come true – how and when is with the Universe.
