Happy FriYay! I’m excited to launch a new series on the blog. On Friday’s, I’ll be sharing my weekly favorites! Many of you ask for posts related to fitness, beauty, cooking, travel and so much more. The Hit List is a great way to share my favorite discoveries with you! I would love to hear your thoughts on the list and learn about your favorite things! Launching the series while I am home in the suburbs of Washington D.C., makes my first list even more special. On my end, this week has been a whirlwind. Traveling from SF to DC, spending time with family, and getting ready for my sister’s baby shower, there is a lot going on! Also celebrating my first Karva Chauth on Wednesday was truly special since my husband and I fasted together. Read more about this and so much more in the Hit List!

Favorite Things – Friday Hit List!

  • Karva Chauth: A festival celebrated by women (mostly in North India) in which married women fast from sunrise to moonrise for the safety and longevity of their husbands. As a newly wed, your first Karva Chauth is considered very auspicious. My husband and I decided to fast together for the health, happiness, and prosperity of each other and our family. While fasting was not easy, knowing that we were in it together made the festival even more special.
  • The Good Place: NBC Thursdays is back (almost ;). The Good Place is one of my favorite new comedies. The show’s diverse cast gels so well and I love how flashbacks give us insights on each character.
  • Instant Pot: This multi- functional electronic pressure cooker is my go-to appliance for all things cooking, especially Indian Cooking. I can’t wait to start sharing my favorite quick and easy Indian-inspired recipes on my YouTube channel – relaunching after the move to Singapore!
  • Washington’s First Michelin Guide: Finally! 12 Washington D.C. restaurants have their stars. 2-Star Pineapple & Pearls, an affordable coffee shop by day, is first on my list to try next week.
  • Fall Maxi Dresses – It’s still in the 80’s here in DC! I traded my cowl neck sweaters for this Hemant and Nandita maxi. Throwing on a jacket when it gets colder makes the dress a perfect transition piece. Shop similar looks under $70 and $30!
  • Blog Love: In preparation for Diwali (Indian New Year), I love these cute DIY Mithai Boxes from Nisha (Love Laugh Mirch)

Next week I will be sharing my Diwali style all week long and would love to hear your October favorites in the comments section below!
