//Saree by designer Mitan Ghosh//
If you follow me on Snapchat (Username: SocialandStyle), you know I had a little truth session yesterday. Lately it’s been tough to keep up with blogging while managing work, wedding planning, and staying in touch with family and friends. I was even thinking of putting the blog on hold while I recharged and felt like I had more time. Then I woke up yesterday morning to find I had been featured on Washingtonian Magazine’s “35 DC Fashion and Style Instagram Feeds You Should Follow Right Now“! “Having started her blog to share her South Asian fashion, there’s lots of inspiration in this Instagram account—including what to wear to an Indian wedding,” I am so proud to share my love for South Asian culture and it was such an honor to be included among such talented women. It’s moments like these, and your messages, emails, and comments that keep me to keep going. Thank you. I am motivated more than ever to keep the blog going and create content that you hopefully will love!
#WeddingWear – Trend spotting – Floral Prints by Mitan Ghosh!
Lately, you may have noticed that floral prints are everywhere from sarees to lenghas. Floral prints are perfect for a wedding since they light, colorful, and easy to wear. Over the weekend, I attended a wedding and picked a floral and net saree by NYC based designer Mitah Ghosh. Mitan is known for her trend setting, yet affordable designs. I decided to go for a more bohemian look by wearing the saree with a statement necklace I found in one of India’s busiest shopping centers New Market, Kolkata. Since the necklace was such a bargain ($1.50!), I bought the saree print bag too. This outfit and styling is a little out of my comfort zone, but I’m so glad I changed things up! Stay tuned for my next collaboration with Mitan Ghosh. featuring floral prints for an evening look!
