Classical Festive Afternoon Tea – Four Seasons Singapore

// Festive Weekend Afternoon Tea c/0 Four Seasons Hotel Singapore //

Happy Holidays from Singapore! I love the Festive Season and I’m excited to share my first holiday post. Since I moved to Singapore, one thing I’ve  learned is that Singaporeans love to celebrate! From Diwali to Chinese New Year, the diverse and inclusive country celebrates many cultures and religions. For the Christmas and New Year’s Holidays, Singapore is adorned with tinsel, ornaments, and garlands. Walking down Orchard Road, you feel like you are in a Winter Wonderland. For me, the holidays are not about gifts or presents – it’s about spending time with the people in your life that you want to give thanks for. Since moving to Singapore, my friend Sunita has been more than a friend, she has been a sister to me. A mom, luxury real estate professional, and wife –  Sunita has her hands full; yet, always makes time to check on me and the family. When I was getting ready to deliver Baby Aadhav, I booked my mom’s ticket to arrive on Aadhav”s due date. Little did we know that our little one would arrive a week early! After I delivered, I was missing my mom and sister so much. With tears in my eyes, I heard a knock on the hospital room door. In came Sunita full of love and hugs for Baby Aadhav. The surprise touched me so much and I felt the love of a sister all around me. When I heard about the Classical Festive Celebrations at the Four Seasons in Singapore, I knew I wanted to celebrate our friendship over a festive afternoon tea. As you know, I love high tea and was excited to try my first afternoon tea at the Four Seasons. The service, food, and drinks were ah-mazing! Sharing our Afternoon Tea experience below!

New Mom Pampering with Novu SG

// At-Home Mani Pedi c/co Novu Singapore //

After I had Baby Aadhav, I kept planning to get my nails done but could never find time. Three months later, my nails needed some major TLC. When I heard about Novu, I was excited to try my first home Mani Pedi beauty service. I’ve heard a lot about at-home beauty services but I always preferred going to the salon. Once I had a baby, I realized how convenient it was to have a beauty service done at home. Sitting on my balcony, getting pampered, and being able to take care of Aadhav was the most amazing experience (Moms understand how a little pampering goes a long way!). In the beginning, I was a little nervous that the quality would not be as good as a salon. Thankfully the experience was even better! There’s something about the comfort of your own home that makes the experience so relaxing.  For the holidays, I would love for you to try Novu too. Use code ‘SS10’ to receive 10% off your home Mani Ped service. Happy holidays and happy pampering! Read below for some exciting news!

#DesignerSpotlight – Meet Anaita founder of Lustre

Lustre - EARRINGS - CHALCEDONY & BLUE TOPAZ OVALS

// Earrings –  Lustre // Jumpsuit – KIRAN X PAWANA // Photography – Hoethdor //

Now that I’m a mom, I’m learning what it means to be a mother. Learning how to parent, raise a child, and pursue your passion is not easy. I always put my baby first and strive to give him the best life possible. At the same time, I’m figuring out how to balance motherhood and my own sense of self. When I was eight months pregnant, a friend introduced me to Anaita, founder of Lustre – a jewelry brand that designs high quality semi precious jewelry for the contemporary woman. After speaking with Anaita, her mission to create jewelry for women who have no age, knows no boundaries, and are stylish without having to try hard resonated with me. Anaita believes that women are unique and perfect in their own way. At first, I tried to shoot the earrings while I was (very) pregnant. My face looked puffy and I felt so huge that I decided to wait until after I had my little Aadhav. Three months later, I still felt like I was not ready. Soon I realized I would never feel “ready”. My body had gone through the most miraculous experience and I decided to embrace it. Even though I don’t look like I used to, I’m learning to be confident in the body and woman that I am today. I’m excited to share my first fashion shoot post pregnancy with you and Anaita’s beautiful earrings. Read more about Anaita and her design inspiration below!

From November 23-28, Lustre will donate 10% of its sales to Aseema. Also enjoy free shipping on all orders over $75 with code ‘#ThanksForGiving’.

Our Bedtime

Before Baby Aadhav, bedtime was “me” time. I used to love sitting with a cup of lemon infused hot water, while taking time to unwind and reflect after a busy day. Now bedtime is all Baby Aadhav time! And I love every moment of our laughs, cuddles, and fussy cries. In the evenings, Shiv and I make it a point to spend time with Baby Aadhav together. From what I hear, most babies go to bed around 7 pm. Not our little one! I give Aadhav a bath around 7 pm and from then till about 10:30pm he is wide awake (with a 15 min nap somewhere during that time). After 9 pm, Aadhav is super excited and very talkative. We usually FaceTime with the family and then try to have Aadhav start going to bed. We read our good night books, which Aadhav loves. After reading Aadhav starts to feel sleepy (finally!). I end the night with a DreamFeed and then Aadhav usually falls into a deep sleep. Sometimes he wakes up at 3 am for the next feed, other times he sleeps till about 5-6 am. I’m sharing our bedtime must haves with you. Thank you all for your comments and suggestions on my Diaper Bag Must-Haves post!

#RealTalk – Post Pregnancy Fitness

Leggings & Sports Bra c/o Annee Matthew

This post is probably one of the most real updates I have written in a while. Since giving birth, I cannot tell you how many people have commented on my appearance. The first few days after I came home from the hospital, the comments ranged from how tired I looked to the security guard in our building asking me when is the baby due. I politely told him the baby is already here – and he just stared at my stomach with a confused look. Honestly, I have stared at myself with that same look for weeks now! Baby Aadhav is almost 3 months old and I have started my postnatal fitness journey. This truly is a journey. While it may look on Instagram that I have “bounced back”, I can assure that is not the case. Honestly, I’ve been shocked at how difficult it is to get back to working out. There are so many challenges from finding time to actually workout to learning my stamina is about 10% of what it used to be. These past few months, my focus has been on making sure Baby Aadhav is healthy and happy. While that seems like a normal thing, breast feeding and pumping run my life. I’m still about 17 pounds over my normal weight. Almost none of my pre-baby clothes fit and with a baby, there isn’t a budget for a whole new wardrobe. While I am trying to eat healthy, I also have to be careful that I have enough calories to feed my growing boy. Now the new normal is to workout, even if it’s a quick 5 minute walk or 30 min YouTube video. I also try to eat healthy but eat a lot more calories since I am eating for two.  The main area I am trying to tone up is my abs. I have a lot of extra fat around there that I hope will go down by continuing to breastfeed, workout when I can, and eat a diet healthy for a nursing mom. I’ll be sharing more of my journey, workouts, and meal plans with you on the blog – stay tuned!
