#PartyPlan – Holiday Planning from Pinterest to Party Day!

As I neared the end of my graduate program, I couldn’t wait to celebrate! I wanted to thank all my family and friends who supported me throughout grad school. From proofreading papers to sending good luck texts, their support meant a lot. I thought a holiday party would be the perfect way to catch up with my girlfriends, celebrate, and say thank you!

Planning the party was a lot of fun (and a nice distraction during finals). I turned to Pinterest to collect ideas and came up with a few of my own. I started by selecting the color scheme: blue and white (my school’s colors). Next, I loved the idea of greeting guests with a steaming cup of hot chocolate on a cold December day with a Hot Chocolate Bar. Another idea was to engage guests with an activity so they can get to know each other and take home a little treat. Decorating mehndi inspired cookies during the party was a hit! I found a paisley cookie cutter from Etsy and baked 200+ sugar cookies! I made icing bags using Royal Icing mix, Cake Boss pastry bags, and food coloring. At the end of the decorating session, I held a contest for the most creative and most delicious cookie. I have such great memories from the party and thank you to everyone who was a part of the celebration.

I really enjoyed collecting ideas from Pinterest and making them my own. I took a few pictures of the decorations and party ideas to share with you! What holiday ideas do you have pinned for your holiday party?
