#PartyPlan – Sunday Funday Brunch!

Social and Style - Party Setup Sunday Mimosa Rooftop Brunch 50

Having a get together is one of my favorite things to do. I love coming up with ideas that I think my guests will enjoy and bringing the ideas to life. Since I really enjoy brunch food, I decided to have a few friends over for a Sunday Funday brunch. Thankfully after weeks of heat and rain, the weather cooperated it was a  beautiful breezy day. That’s just the atmosphere I was looking for – a casual summertime Sunday brunch on my rooftop. When planning a party, I enjoy coming up with themes and concepts to involve my guests. To plan for the brunch, I found great ideas on Pinterest for themes and recipes and then made them my own. From the Mimosa Bar to the food, everyone had a great time enjoying a Sunday afternoon with friends. I put together a few tips for your own Sunday Funday Brunch.

Sunday Funday Brunch Tips

  • Create a theme – Having a theme really helps bring the event together from the decor to the menu. I decided on a Black and White Mimosa Bar theme with brunch food favorites.
  • Make ahead – To cut down on stress the day of the party, I made most of the dishes the day before by selecting recipes I could made ahead from the Peaches and Cream French Toast to the Sweet Potato hash casserole.
  • Involve your guests – Rather than having everything set before people arrive, include your guests to help make drinks or appetizers. During my winter holiday party – the Hot Chocolate Bar was a hit as everyone loved experimenting and creating their custom blends. Following the brunch theme, I set up a Mimosa Bar and had fresh juices and fruits for guests to create their own cocktails.
  • Simple yet memorable – While I am trying to work on my cooking skills, I am no where near becoming a food blogger. Instead of trying complicated recipes, I added my own twist on easy to make foods. For instance, I made the stuffing for the deviled eggs out of hummus and celery to make the dish more healthy. The eggs were a hit and the celery added a little extra crunch.
  • Details on a budget  – The little details are what I love the most when planning a party. With all the glitz and glam on blogs and Instagram – it’s easy to go over the top and over your budget very fast. I always set a budget for my parties and look for ways to save. I’ve found that I can find unique items on clearance at places like West Elm and Pier 1 Imports. It takes a little bit of looking and patience but I always find a hidden treasure  on sale. For this party, I had a few things that I couldn’t find anywhere. Thankfully – I found the champaign flutes, mini spoons, and tooth picks on Amazon for reasonable prices.
