// Outfit Sehrish Rehan from  Indus Threads //

Since our marriage almost three months ago (!), one of the most common questions I get from readers is where to shop for outfits for a South Asian wedding! I also receive lots of questions on what are the latest trends, where can you shop affordably, who are the best designers, and lots more related to South Asian wedding guest fashion. So many of you were delighted to learn that Indus Threads, based in Los Altos, CA,  provides South Asian designer wear for rent at affordable prices! Indus Threads provides access to high-end designer outfits to your door step through its rental service. With wedding season in full swing, buying outfits for each event gets expensive fast. And with the changing trends, styles, and designers, outfits are becoming dated one season to the next.

#DesignerSpotlight – Indian Fusion with Pooja Fashion Trends

Pooja Trends Social and Style 42

// Outfit by Pooja’s Fashion Trends//

Over the weekend, we went to one of our favorite wineries, Paradise Ridge, and the Zakhir Hussian concert in San Jose. Since I wanted to wear something that would be appropriate for both events, I picked this gorgeous custom fusion outfit from Pooja Fashion Trends for the evening. So many of you loved Pooja Fashion Trends Anarkali I wore a few months ago and asked to see more designs! What I love about Pooja Fashion Trends is that the designer and founder, Pooja, can create unique one of a kind outfits from designs you provide. For instance, I saw this statement Nikhil Thampi outfit on Shilpa Shetty and shared the photo with Pooja on WhatsApp. From there, Pooja helped me select the color and how to best design the outfit to fit my body type. The outfit arrived in a few weeks and is now one of my favorites! Thanks to Pooja’s creativity, I can wear the fusion dress / tunic for both Indian and American wedding this summer.

// Locations: Supreme Court, Library of Congress//

When it came time to plan our engagement photos –  my Fiancé and I knew we wanted to include the city closest to my heart. Born and raised in the D.C. area, I have always felt like D.C. was home. Since I will be moving to Sonoma County after our wedding, having our engagement photos in D.C. made the day even more memorable. Walking past the Supreme Court and Library of Congress – I was always amazed by the history and beauty of the locations. We knew they would be the perfect spots for our shoot!

#IndianJewelry – East Meets West with Treasures in Vogue Part 3

Treasures in Vogue Social and Style Collaboration 6090

//Necklace Treasures in Vogue //

I’m so glad you are loving the collaboration with Treasures in Vogue as much as I do! So many of you asked to see how I styled this peach and gold statement necklace for the Bollywood-themed birthday bash I attended last Saturday. I decided to channel old Bollywood glam by pairing the necklace with an anarkali and adding soft curls. Since I was transitioning from brunch to the birthday celebration, I added simple rose gold studs to keep the focus on the necklace. To change up the look, I twisted the peach strands of the necklace to give the anarkali a more sophisticated look. Good thing all these events and outfit changes are getting me prepared for my wedding day :)

#IndianJewelry – East Meets West with Treasures in Vogue

Treasures in Vouge Social and Style Collaboration 501 v2

//Chandbalis from Treasures in Vogue //

One of the questions I get asked most often is where can I find high-quality affordable Indian jewelry. We all know that fine jewelry can be very expensive and fashion jewelry (especially Indian jewelry) often does not last long. In my jewelry box, I have about 6 pairs of chandbalis and jhumkas with a missing stone or bead. When I saw Treasures in Vogue on Instagram, I could tell from their photos that the jewelry was high quality. I was even more excited when I saw the selection of styles and designs. What love most is how versatile each piece is. I selected a pair of earrings and a necklace and decided to style them in an east –meets – west collaboration with Treasures in Vogue. For a Holiday party, I paired this cape crop top midi dress from Asos with the chandbalis. I love how the earrings highlighted the high neck without over powering the look.
