2017 Let’s Do It! As we head into the New Year, I’m getting ready for an amazing 2017. While I shy away from resolutions, I decide on 3-5 goals to focus my thoughts and decisions for the year ahead. I typically spend the days before New Year’s Eve relaxing and spending time with loved ones. This helps me to clear my head and allow myself to think about my priorities, goals, and passion. During this time, I also reflect on the direction and purpose of Social and Style. Blogging is a part of my life that takes time and energy. I want to make sure I am using my time and energy wisely. When I started Social and Style, my vision for the blog was to be a platform to inspire readers. From the #PowerWomen series to supporting local businesses, my goal for Social and Style is to uplift others. In Singapore, I am learning more about the startup scene and local small businesses. Each founder I meet, always inspires me with their story and journey. I look forward to introducing you to these entrepreneurs in a new series #SingaporeSpotlight, starting with Manisha Gattani founder of Linen & More!

#DiscoverSingapore – Emerald Hill Road

Discover Singapore! I am excited to launch a new series on the blog today. So many of you have asked me to share more about living in Singapore from the streets to the food after seeing my stories on Instagram and Snap (SocialandStyle). Through this series, I’ll be sharing my favorite hidden gems in Singapore (SG). For our first few months in SG, we will be staying in a service apartment, which is centrally located by the Somerset MRT (subway/metro) off Orchard Road. For those who have not visited, Orchard Road is the main shopping area where you can find everything from high-end luxury goods to hawker centers (local street food). We are lucky to be living so close to everything. Once we move to our own apartment, we’ll likely be further away from the city so I am enjoying living in Orchard to the max! During my first week in SG, I ventured off Orchard Road and found a beautiful side street called Emerald Hill. Little did I know that this street would become one of our favorite places to dine and hang out! Here are a few of our favorite places on Emerald Hill Road!

Giving Thanks

Thanksgiving is such a beautiful holiday. Taking time to reflect on what you are grateful for and celebrating with loved ones is so important in the face-paced world we live in. For the first time in my life, I’ll be celebrating Thanksgiving outside the US. Living in Singapore, I’ve been introduced to the large expat community here. There are lot of Thanksgiving celebrations all over the country and I am looking forward to celebrating with new friends. This Thanksgiving is even more special for me since I have so much to be thankful for. Not having my mom act like world is ending – now that I am finally married is probably what I am most thankful for. Just kidding (ok maybe not ;) Jokes aside, I wanted to share what I am most thankful for this Thanksgiving since you are one of them!

Big News – Singapore Here We Come!

Sonoma Valley Crush weekend

Happy Monday! I am excited to share some big news….We are moving to Singapore next month! My husband’s work is relocating us in early November and we’re excited for our next adventure. It feels like yesterday, I was moving to Sonoma and starting our life as a married couple. Five months ago, I packed up all my belongings and moved to the West Coast. Today, we are packing our entire home and moving around the world! With our relocation less than a month away, there is a lot going on. Most important, we want to spend time with our family and friends. Our friends here in Sonoma made me feel so welcomed. We have such an amazing circle of friends here in Santa Rosa who are our family. I’m going to miss our dinners, weekends at the vineyards, and of course our afternoon chai meet ups (more on that in an upcoming post!).

I am also spending the last two weeks of October in DC with my family. I am super excited to be back home soon.  While we transition, I’ll be sharing our experience and adventures here on Social and Style. Blogging has become such an important part of my life and I will still be blogging in Singapore (SG)! As a major hub in South East Asia – there is so much going on in SG that I can’t wait to share with you! While we are excited about the move, I am going to miss Sonoma and our friends here. Cheers to all the beautiful memories in wine country! Thank you for your support during this time <3
